i made a pot like yours with water hyacinths in it, but every week or so my pond starts to turn green. what should i do?
You need to just let it cycle. Don’t drain it and try to get it clear that way. Just give the water hyacinths a few weeks to work their magic.

The tank filter is homemade. This year I didn’t bother with any filter pads inside. Just filled it with water hyacinths and they are doing all the filtering. I could never keep my ponds clear until I learned to have plenty of water hyacinths. They are truly the secret!!!
too bad you cant hide some of that including the hoses that go into the pond. I used something like this but it has the waterfall spillway.
It is my intention to add a waterfall, but just haven’t had the opportunity to work on it. I intend to take this watergarden apart next spring and rebuild the whole thing.
